IBM targets Borland JBuilder customers
IBM is pushing Rational Application Developer on the Borland JBuilder set. It makes sense since Borland announced moving JBuilder on Eclipse. But the real sticking point here is Borland selling off its IDE products. This has been announced for a while, but recent news has raised this issue to a new level, and IBM is really turning up the heat with a “corporate-backing” message:
Of course you want a great tool. But you also want to feel assured that along with good value the product has a strong corporate sponsorship for preserving its future. Rational Application Developer is a strategic and critical part of IBM Software Group business. IBM invests millions of dollars a year into providing world-class, enterprise-level software development tools.
